Australian Capital Territory (ACT) www.atc.gov.au
Capital: Canberra www.canberratourism.com.au
The ACT was excised from NSW to create a territory for the national capital, Canberra at the time of Australian Federation. The territory is at a high elevation that creates a very low humidity. The landscape is a mixture of grassy valleys, hills, with a bordering mountain range. The climate can get quite cold in winter when the surrounding mountains are snow-capped, but summers are hot and dry.
Average daytime temperature (celsius) in Canberra: Winter:5; Summer:24
