South Australia is sparsely populated, with most people living towards the coastline in the south. It is famous for the Adelaide cultural festival and for developing the Australian wine industry. It has some pretty coastal areas and lush, hilly wine regions. Towards the north, the landscape becomes the central deserts of Australia.
