1. How do I gain information about the Australian Development Scholarships (ADS)?
You are invited to contact GRM International directly by sending an e-mail to leannev@adsafrica.org or fax your enquiry to +27-12-362-4361.
On the country specific pages you will also find the contact details of the various nominating authorities of the participating countries.
2. I am an undergraduate student. Do I qualify to apply for the ADS scholarships?
No, the ADS is a capacity building program to upgrade the qualifications of people who are already qualified. To apply for the ADS program, you must already hold the qualification required for your country as set out under the Eligibility Criteria section and also have the minimum years of work experience post graduation.
3. How do I obtain an application form?
Application forms are only distributed to candidates who have either been nominated (in the Public category) or those who have been selected for further consideration in the Open category. These candidates will be notified of their selection.
4. I want to pursue my PhD. Would I qualify for the ADS?
No. ADS is a capacity building program that focuses on the upgrading of qualifications from an Undergraduate degree to a Master Degree or Postgraduate Diploma.
5. I am not from one of the countries on your list? Would I be considered for a scholarship?
No. Australia has a modest aid program, which is focused on twelve partner countries in eastern and southern Africa.
6. I already have admission to an Australian University. May I now apply for a scholarship?
The general process is that candidates in the Public category are being nominated by the listed Government Department. After selection, successful candidates are required to fill in the application forms indicating the University at which they wish to study. A candidate who has already received a place at a university will still have to go through the ADS selection process. Precedence will not be given to a candidate who has already applied to a university.
